SYNOPSIS (with spoilers)

In my near-future dystopian thriller TWISTED JUSTICE, ALLY, the pious teen granddaughter of a conservative Supreme Court Justice, scolds her best friend NIA for letting her herself get pregnant. But soon after, Ally finds herself pregnant (following her father’s late-night sexual assault) and attempts suicide.
Recovering in the hospital, Ally reconciles with Nia and the two of them turn to the "Choice Train,” an underground railroad for those trying to escape their forced-birth state to get abortions. Yards from the state border, they are arrested by vigilantes (including Ally’s militant brother SAM) and taken to a “Life Mall” (a repurposed suburban mall) where they are put on trial by CALEB, the Life Mall Warden, and sentenced to remain incarcerated until they give birth. Plus another year to provide an additional live birth.
Horrified by their sentence and the conditions at the Life Mall, a remorseful Sam breaks Ally and Nia out. During the escape, Nia is shot. Sam and Ally take her to a safe emergency room, but Life Mall goons soon recapture Ally, tasing Sam into a cardiac arrest.
When Ally’s father and grandfather meet with Caleb to get Ally released, Caleb reveals that he’s the brother of one of the Justice’s law clerks. He plays a recording of the Justice coercing her to have an abortion.
The Justice attacks Caleb to get the recording. In the scuffle, guards burst in, guns are discharged, leaving the Justice seriously injured--and Ally’s father dead. Ally escapes from the mall (again), Caleb is arrested, and her grandfather survives, but his reputation doesn’t. Nia miscarries in the hospital but recovers from her gunshot wound. And Sam accompanies Ally to a free-state clinic for her abortion.
