SYNOPSIS (with spoilers)

A young van-life couple on a peaceful mountain getaway hear a radio report that the “Hooked Killer” has escaped from prison, just like the old urban legend LAURA remembers. Laura is afraid, but Peter laughs off her fears. Then Peter has to take a pitch-dark walk to a nearby gas station for a propane tank. The station OWNER pulls a gun on Peter, thinking he’s SNYDER, the killer. Back in the van, Laura hears scratching sounds outside the van. She sees a figure and swings open a door, knocking the figure (who turns out to be Peter trying to scare her) to ground. Later, the two go to sleep, Laura still angry at Peter’s ill-timed joke. Laura wakes to find Peter — and the toilet paper roll - gone. She goes back to sleep, but wakes when she hears bumping against the van. Believing the sound to be Peter again, she opens the door. Only to see Peter’s bloody body hanging from a tree. Screaming hysterically, she leaps back into the van and speeds to the gas station. She is greeted there by Snyder, but before she figures out who he is, Snyder retrieves his hook from the van door and attacks Laura. Soon after, he drives away in the van.
