SYNOPSIS (with spoilers)

THE PHROGGER is a drama/thriller cross between Parasite and Hider in the House. It opens on a hooded figure entering and hiding in someone’s house. Eating their food, using their toothbrush (AKA “phrogging). The figure turns out to be RILEY, a trans teen who, we find out through flashbacks, has escaped an anti-gay bootcamp and is hiding from her ultra-religious parents. 

 

In one of the houses she’s hiding in, she sees a father, KURT, fondling himself on his 8-year-old daughter EMMA’s bed. Horrified and determined to help young Emma, Riley hides the family’s nanny cam in Emma’s bedroom. Kurt finds Riley’s basement hideout and chases her out of the house.

 

Kurt and his Wife Sheryl call the POLICE and discover a $100,000 First Edition missing. The Police, Kurt and Sheryl examine Nanny Cam footage looking for the thief, but instead they ALL see footage of Kurt on Emma’s bed with his dick out. Horrified, Sheryl orders Kurt out of the house, and the cops do her one better and arrest him on the spot.

 

The next day, Riley’s NEW hiding place is found out and she’s taken in. At the police station, Sheryl sees Riley (who she calls “Emma’s Guardian Angel) for the first time, and we find out one of the COPS is Riley’s FATHER! He makes a scene at the station, takes Riley home to her fanatical MOTHER, and locks her up in the basement.  

 

In the basement, Riley endures a priest’s “exorcism” and her Father’s DIY shock therapy before she fights back, gets away from her parents, and ultimately finds safety and the prospect of a better life - as a foster with Emma and Sheryl.
